Telehealth Rehabilitation FAQ

Who would benefit from Telehealth?:

Telehealth might be beneficial for patients that require new assessment, pregnant women who would like education on what they should be doing during pregnancy as well as post-partum, women who I consult on a recheck basis who know how to properly perform an exercise but need their exercise routine progressed, women who have recently given birth and would like to know what exercises they should or shouldn’t be doing to help return to activity, women who are experiencing mastitis and other breast feeding related concerns. Please reach out if the above does not pertain to you but you are curious as to whether Telehealth can benefit you.

What can I expect from Telehealth?

During an initial assessment in clinic, most of the appointment time is spent doing a thorough subjective evaluation. By doing this via Telehealth I can prescribe certain exercises and give you education to begin your rehabilitation independently at home. When my clinic reopens, we can then complete the objective evaluation and continue your care. For patients that I have seen before, we can progress your exercise program and give you guidance on continuing your physiotherapy at home independently.

What system are you using for Telehealth and is it confidential?

Luckily the software I use for online charting has come out with a Telehealth feature to make things easy. Jane’s Telehealth feature is built within Jane’s secure infrastructure and is designed from the ground up to be secure. All data is encrypted in transit, and nothing is ever recorded or stored. An email containing a link to the meeting will be sent prior to your appointment.

How many patients are you able to see via Telehealth
Due to the criteria announced by the government at this time the amount of Telehealth visits I can offer will be limited but I will do my best to accommodate everyone who reaches out.

How long is a session and how much does a session cost?

An initial assessment is $100.00 and is roughly 45 mins-1 hour

A follow up appointment is $50.00 and is roughly 20-30 minutes

How are you taking payments?
At this time I am only taking email transfer payments.

Are you offering direct billing for Telehealth?
Every insurance company and each person’s individual insurance plan has its own stipulations on whether or not Telehealth is covered. Because of this, I will not be direct billing insurance providers and will require you to pay up front for your appointment. After your appointment I will email you a copy of your receipt which you can then use to claim under your insurance. I would check with your provider prior to your appointment to see if Telehealth is offered under your plan.

How do I schedule an appointment?

At this time I am not offering online booking for Telehealth appointments. Please email me at carolynpridhampt@gmail.com to set up an appointment time. I am available Monday-Friday and we can find a time that works best for the both of us!
