ABOUT KAT

Kat Bowes (she/her) began her education at Memorial University of Newfoundland in Biochemistry which led to an interest in health and nutrition. Her interest brought her to Acadia University where received a Bachelor in Science of Nutrition, and pursued a career in dietetics. She returned home to NL to complete a Dietetic Practicum with Eastern Health. 

 

Kat has been practicing as a Registered Dietitian since 2022. She is a size-inclusive, anti-diet dietitian who uses the Health at Every Size approach. Her practice is person (or client?)-centred and she aims to make evidence-based recommendations with your goals and lifestyle at the forefront. Kat works with her clients to find a nutrition plan that works for them, their goals, and their lives. 

 

Kat has worked as a dietitian in several practice areas. Her experience has been primarily centred in Women's health and pediatric nutrition. She is well-knowledged in prenatal nutrition, nutrition throughout pregnancy and lactation, gestational diabetes, infant nutrition, introducing solids/baby-led weaning, picky eating, among other related women's and pediatric concerns. She also provides nutritional care for a variety of gynecological issues through nutrition, such as PCOS, endometriosis, etc. 

 

Apart from common women's and pediatric nutrition issues, she has experience treating individuals with a variety of chronic conditions. She is equipped to help you prevent or live with health conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, and liver failure. She also has experience working with disordered eating behaviours and can also help you build a healthy lifestyle and relationship with food. 

 

Kat is passionate about the impact nutrition can have and is excited to work with Vitality Wellness to improve lives, one bite at a time.
