ABOUT ALANA
Alana Careen is a registered physiotherapist from Newfoundland and Labrador. She completed her Bachelor of Kinesiology (Co-op) at Memorial University before earning her Master’s of Physiotherapy with distinction from Glasgow Caledonian University in Scotland.
She has experience working in both Canada and the UK in public and private healthcare settings, treating a wide range of orthopaedic conditions including pre- and post-op breast cancer rehabilitation. Alana gained pelvic health specific experience at a maternity hospital in Ayrshire, Scotland and undertook in-services in pregnancy-related pelvic girdle pain, pre- and post-natal education, urinary incontinence, and post-op gynaecological surgery rehabilitation. She has completed training via Pelvic Health Solutions Level 1 course for urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse and is a member of the CPA’s Pelvic and Reproductive Health Division.
Alana prioritizes evidence-based practice and her favourite part of the job is helping patients achieve their goals.
Outside of the clinic, Alana loves staying active through volleyball, hiking, and strength training. She also enjoys crocheting, thrifting, and spending time with her cat, Kit.
